Introducing… Bloomberg Environmental Social Governance (ESG)
16/01/2023
Those of you interested in working with ESG will want to check out Bloomberg’s latest e-learning package on the topic. Access Bloomberg via the terminals in the SOM Library.
To start the course, if you haven’t already done so, you will first need to create a Bloomberg account. Learn more about how to do this here.
Then, once logged onto a terminal, to access Bloomberg’s e-learning packages type BCER <Go>. This command will take you to the Bloomberg certification page.
Bloomberg Certification (BCER) currently provides access to two e-learning courses. In order to access either of these you will need to sign up on this page. Signing up will create your e-learning login details which are separate from your Bloomberg terminal login.
The two certificated courses available are:
- BMC (Bloomberg Market Concepts) – which provides an introduction to the global economy and financial markets and is described more fully in our earlier blog post.
- ESG (Environmental Social Governance) – which provides learners with information on how to implement ESG strategies and prepare ESG reports for regulators.
The ESG course is made up of several modules :
- Introduction to ESG & Sustainable Finance
- Researching & Adopting ESG
- Negative Exclusionary Screening and Positive Screening
- ESG Integration-Fixed Income
- ESG Integration- Equities
- Corporate Governance & Shareholder Activism
- Reporting Sustainability Activities
Each module will take approx 1 hour to complete and, like the BMC, on completion a digital certificate will be available to add to your CV.
If you are more interested in sources for researching ESG, have a look at our posts on ESG data in Workspace and ESG data in Bloomberg.
If you have any further questions about ESG or BCER, please do get in touch.
