How to get the most out of our Open Day
06/03/2025

Our Open Day is just around the corner, and you’re wondering what you can do to make sure you get the most out of your visit to us. Fear not, we’ve pulled together our top tips of what to do on the day to make sure you get everything you need to from us.
- Engage with all aspects of the day
We’ve got a jam-packed agenda with lots of opportunities for you to find out everything you need to know about life at Cranfield. We really encourage you to attend all sessions, and get involved in conversations where you can.
Yes, this even means the networking bit. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but even if you don’t have a question yourself, the answer to someone else’s could be helpful – you don’t know what you don’t know!
You might be tempted to ‘hit the road’ rather than join our campus tours during the afternoon – particularly if you’re not looking to live on campus. But we show you much more than the accommodation; facilities that all students will have access to once they join us. Plus, it’s the best way to get a feel for the place, and tours are led by student ambassadors who love to talk about their experience and answer your questions.
- Make notes
With so much information flying around, it can be easy to forget what you’ve heard. That’s why we’ve kept a few pages blank in your welcome booklet and a pen when you arrive – we’re always thinking ahead.
- Ask for an introduction
If there’s an academic you’ve been in touch with, or heard about, prior to the Open Day, visit the welcome desk during the networking lunch to see if one of our brightly clothed helpers can introduce you to them. Even if you don’t have a name, we’ll know who’s best to talk to about which topic.
- Speak to our current students
It’s all very well hearing how wonderful Cranfield is from people who work here, but you’ll get the best insight from our current students – they were stood where you are not that long ago. We ask them to come along to share their personal experiences with you, giving authentic and ‘real time’ views on student life here.
Hopefully you’re now feeling prepared ahead of our Open Day. If there’s anything we can do, or need to know, to make sure you get the most out of your visit, do let us know.
If you haven’t yet registered to attend our next Open Day visit our website to book now.
