Come to a virtual study session in May
26/04/2024
What are virtual study sessions?
These are online study sessions facilitated by Library staff, where you can study independently alongside other students via Teams. They are a great way for you to dedicate specific time to focus on your research or thesis whilst feeling connected to others and creating a distraction-free environment.
When are they running?
The sessions will take place every Wednesday, 2pm-4pm, during May.
What format will they take?
- Introduction (10 minutes) – meeting other students and sharing what tasks you have set yourself to work on during the first half of the session
- Study session 1 (50 minutes)
- Break (10 minutes) – you can share how your research is going
- Study session 2 (45 minutes)
- End (5 minutes) – you can share how you feel and what you have achieved in the second session
During the introduction, break, and at the end you will be able to have your camera and mic on and talk.
In the two study sessions you will have your camera and mic off and work independently on your own. You can also ask the Library staff questions about things like how to find the information you need, using our resources, referencing etc, via the Teams chat.
How do I join in?
There is no need to book but please join within the first 10 minutes of the start of a session. You are welcome to come along to as many sessions as you wish!
Get the links to the sessions.
We hope to see you there!
And if you need any help getting started with your thesis, don’t forget we have advice for students in the Schools of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing; Water, Energy and Environment, and Defence and Security and also, separately, for School of Management students.
