Santander Universities supporting postgraduate education at Cranfield University
15/03/2017
For a number of years, Santander Universities and Cranfield have had a growing collaboration, which provides support for a range of initiatives, including scholarships, education and research activities, internships and entrepreneurial events and development. If you are a current student at Cranfield or looking to register and start your course in October this year check out these exciting opportunities and see how you could benefit.
Santander Scholarships
Santander Scholarships are worth £5,000 towards the tuition fees on any of our MSc courses and there will be four awarded to students applying for the 2017/18 academic year. Additionally there are also Santander MBA Scholarships that support MBA students, to the tune of £7,500. There is no application form to apply and those students from a Santander programme country that wish to be considered can email studentfunding@cranfield.ac.uk to register their interest.
Santander Mobility Awards
Are you a current student at Cranfield? Is there a conference, workshop or training event you would like to attend outside of the UK? Will you be doing some research or field-work that will incur travel costs? Santander Universities have provided £5,000 to Cranfield for a mobility support fund for students. Applicants must be undertaking travel outside the UK that is related to their course of study. Check out PhD student Giorgio Casselli’s blog post about his trip last year and how he managed to get £500 from Santander to help with the costs. Look on the Cranfield intranet for more information or contact studentfunding@cranfield.ac.uk.
Santander SME Internship Programme
The Santander Universities SME (small and medium sized enterprises) Internship Programme is an entrepreneurial internship programme that provides Cranfield University students and recent graduates paid work experience within local businesses. Santander is contributing up to £1,500 towards the cost of the internship to help businesses pay students £300 per week while they are working. Santander have a portal for participating students and companies to register and it also outlines the full terms and conditions.
Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards
Do you have a great business idea? Do you think you can write a convincing business plan about it? And do you want to compete for up to £25,000? Cranfield University is looking for the two best business plans to represent the University in the prestigious Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards. Prizes will include mentoring, brand management, website design and hosting. Shortlisted entries in the internal Cranfield competition will be eligible for mentoring and support by the Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship. If you are a current student or recent graduate check the intranet or contact studentfunding@cranfield.ac.uk for more information.
With all this support it should be no surprise that Santander has a dedicated branch on campus at Cranfield University. The branch is available for all students, graduates, University staff and the local community and has later opening hours of between 10am and 6pm from Monday to Friday (Wednesdays 10am to 5pm) to best suit university life.
