Cranfield University gym

We know the value of time. We’re all juggling different combinations of classes, extracurricular actives, internships and part-time jobs while attempting to maintain some semblance of a social life.

When you finally have a moment to spare, why don’t you go to the gym!

There are plenty of good reasons to be physically active.

  1. Reduce the odds of developing heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.
  2. Changes the brain in ways that protect memory and thinking skills
  3. Help you to better deal with daily stress

With this increase of overall mental well being (less depression, less anxiety, increased self-esteem) you will be enabled to perform better in your studies. So remember, both your body and mind need physical activity to function at their peak. A strong body leads to a strong mind.

Luckily, we do have a gym on campus!

The opening hours are 7am-10pm (Mon-Fri)/ 10am-9pm(Sat-Sun) and there are quite a few membership options for students, including a one year contract (£145), three months (£50), six months (£85).  You have to make an appointment for induction otherwise you can’t join or activate your membership. They run Group Exercise (GX programmes) such as yoga, boxing etc. I haven’t tried their GX yet, since I do have my own circuit programme!

We try to work out three times in a week! Each session is for about an hour – 30 mins of cardio, 30 mins of intensive circuit training!

Sometimes, a few friends join our circuit training, the maximum is around five people. If anyone is interested in joining our circuit training, let me know! We are very happy to have more people!
