Introducing… EconBiz – Economic Literature Portal
16/12/2016
Cranfield University has become the first university in the UK to join the international EconBiz partner network!
EconBiz is a search portal for economics and business studies. It offers students and researchers:
- a targeted literature search across important databases including EconStor and RePEc
- full text articles from journals and books
- current working papers
- links to conferences and summer schools, with deadlines for call for papers, and options for subject-related or geographical search.
The literature search is much more targeted, in terms of the sources it is searching, than Google Scholar and offers additional functionality for refining your search. The ranking of the search results is also transparent. For further information have a look at What Google Scholar can(’t) do: Comparison of the scholarly search in EconBiz and Google Scholar.
Support for the service is offered by the Research-Guide-EconDesk.
The partner network, which includes universities from Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East has been established to promote the transfer of knowledge and cooperation among members. Its mission is to enable top research in economics and business studies through easy access to quality subject information. The network helps to promote EconBiz on an international level and to enhance the visibility of research output and conferences in all partner countries. It also provides a forum for the discussion of topics relevant to the partners.
EconBiz was set up as a joint project of the German National Library of Economics (ZBW) and the University and City Library of Cologne (USB Köln). During the start-up phase the project was supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
