Creating and Using Datastream Constituent Lists
09/12/2015

Do you need to download data such as share price, market value or earnings per share for a number of companies for a specific date or over a period of time? If so, Datastream can help!
Datastream offers many pre-defined constituent lists of companies for market indices, e.g. FTSE100 or DAX 30 Performance, and sector indices, e.g. the automobile or banking industry. You can find these by searching for constituent lists using the Datastream Navigator.
However, there may be occasions when you need to create your own list of companies. You might want to filter existing lists to remove or add companies to fit with your own requirements. Or you may simply want to create a bespoke list of companies or other items from the results of a search.
To help you do this we have produced a step-by-step guide.
