5 weeks until new UKRI open access policy – key points about the gold route
25/02/2022

For anyone receiving UKRI funding, a new policy will apply for peer-reviewed research articles submitted for publication from 1 April 2022.
Read the full policy now to ensure you know what your responsibilities are.
Did you know?
The policy permits two routes to compliant OA (open access) publishing. Route 1 is to go for gold.
Gold route key points:
- The gold route may well involve paying an APC (article processing charge). See our full guide in the link below for ways the Library Service can help support that cost.
- Using the gold route means your work will be publicly available immediately, and you will be able to apply a CC-BY licence.
Any questions?
Your Information Specialist is here to help. Read the Library’s guide on the new UKRI open access policy.
