Preparing for assignments and exams?
15/12/2025

Sorry! We know it seems a bit mean to mention the exams in January rather than looking forward to the break before it! However, we know many of you will be thinking about your forthcoming assignments and exams, so we thought it might be helpful to point you to some resources to help you do your best.
There are a list of key topics in the ‘Assessment and Assignment’ section of our Study Skills Hub including:
- Top tips on how to revise effectively,
- How to cope in an exam,
- How to handle multiple choice questions.
- Types of assessment you might experience,
- Understanding the assignment and the assessment marking scheme,
- Preparation methods, interpreting intended learning outcomes,
- How to answer the question,
- Submitting on time!
There is also a section on understanding rubrics – the marking system used for many assignments – as well as guidance on how to engage with the feedback that you will get. This covers the types of feedback you might receive, how to understand it and how to make the most of it to form an action plan for improvements.
Remember to check out the time management and stress management sections if you are struggling too.
These are just a few of the many topics available in the Study Skills Hub so have a browse to see which other resources might help you too.
Good luck!
