Pursuing my passion for lightweight structures
After graduating from the Advanced Lightweight and Composite Structures MSc, I embarked on a career centred around lightweight structures. This passion led me to pursue a PhD in the field, where I could dive deeper into research and innovation. The PhD programme was more than just an academic journey—it was an opportunity to contribute to the advancement of lightweight structures. It allowed me to explore new concepts, push the boundaries of what I had learned, and develop a specialised knowledge base.
Upon completing my PhD, I joined the lightweight structures team as a research fellow. This role has allowed me to translate my academic experiences into real-world applications. Every day, I apply the knowledge and skills honed during my MSc and PhD to various projects, helping to solve complex problems. My career path has been defined by a commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, and advancing the field through innovative research.
The impact of my MSc on my career
The foundation for my career was laid during my MSc programme, which had a significant impact on my professional journey. After completing my MSc, I knew I wanted to delve even deeper into the world of lightweight structures and artificial intelligence, leading me to pursue a PhD. The MSc programme had equipped me with the knowledge and skills I needed to excel in this specialised area, providing a strong base that I could build upon.
During my PhD, I expanded on the concepts introduced during my MSc, deepening my expertise in lightweight structures and artificial intelligence. This academic journey allowed me to make meaningful contributions to the field and prepared me for a career in research. My MSc was crucial in shaping my career trajectory and provided the foundation I needed to join Cranfield University as a research fellow. In this role, I’ve been able to apply the skills and knowledge gained during my studies to tackle complex research challenges and develop novel solutions.
In short, my MSc played a pivotal role in setting me on the path to success. It gave me the tools I needed to pursue advanced research, complete a PhD, and ultimately contribute to the lightweight structures field as a research fellow.
