Our wellbeing corners have a name – The Nook!
16/07/2024
Earlier this year, we asked you to think of a name for our new wellbeing corners in the Kings Norton and School of Management Libraries. We had so many great suggestions, and would like to thank everyone who took the time to get involved.
We have chosen “The Nook” to reflect the fact that both areas are cosy and safe, so you can take some time out from studying. They offer a range of relaxation activities including jigsaws, scratch card art, origami and sudoku, which have all be very well used. We particularly love the inspirational artwork that students have left for each other. But don’t feel you need to “do” anything – you can just “be”. Please use The Nook as somewhere to take a break if you are starting to feel overwhelmed or are experiencing sensory overload and need a quiet space for time out.
We would also like to acknowledge the University’s Student Wellbeing and Disability Support team and Cranfield Students’ Association who have supported the development of these areas. We are also hoping to create a Nook in Barrington Library in the future.
