Take a break with Libby
27/10/2023
Everybody needs a break from work, and if you fancy reading or listening to some fiction or non-academic books, we have the app for you!
Use Libby to borrow a host of online books and audiobooks that you can access on the go, anywhere, any time. The collection includes fiction, autobiography, wellbeing, personal and professional titles, and also covers a range of languages.
Titles not offered by Cranfield are now added to your search results. If you find a book that isn’t in our collection, click on “Notify me” and we’ll be told you’re interested in it. If we buy it, you’ll then receive an alert and given the option to borrow it. We are currently looking for suggestions for new titles, so you’ll probably be lucky!
Libby is completely free to use. There are no subscription costs (Library Services are paying those!), no in-app purchases, and no late fees. It works like you would borrow a book though – there is a loan period, and you will need to reserve a title if it’s currently on loan to someone else.
Please do check the app from time to time as new titles are being added continually.
How do I get started?
- Download the Libby app from Google or Apple.
2. Find ‘Cranfield University’ in the list.
3. Enter your University username and password.
4. Start borrowing or browsing the digital library!
Note for Cranfield staff: at the moment, staff members are only able to download Libby onto an Intune registered device.
Any questions?
Let us know what you think of the app.
