LSCM BBQ & The Logistics Troupe at Cranfield Olympics
16/07/2016

Hey everyone, long time no see. Guess what is happening with us? Thesis-writing and more thesis writing…
Well, we all know it’s not going to be very productive if we just sit in the library reading and typing throughout the great summer days in the UK. So, shall we have some fun? Absolutely!
The campus is absolutely stunning when the sun is out. I took a few shots with my phone early on Wednesday morning near Lanchester Hall and the Sports Hall, here they are:
The BBQ evening was organised by the school and held in the Cranfield village pub (Swan) on the 23rd of June – the same day as the interim thesis presentation for most LSCMers. Our course director, Denyse, generously bought everyone their first round of drinks to thank us for hitting the response rate on the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES). It was a great evening for catching up with people since many LSCMers are on company-based thesis projects so were not on campus every day over the past two months. Some of us went clubbing in Bedford that evening – I heard they had a wonderful time (kind of regretted that I didn’t go… I instead went late evening grocery shopping in Tesco with three other girls). Okay, chitchat aside, let’s see some photos!
On Sunday the 10th of July, the Cranfield Students Association (CSA) held the annual Cranfield Olympics, comprising of a series of fun games and races. It has been slightly difficult to pull together a team of 10 people since everyone was quite busy with their theses and nobody seemed to be checking the Logistics Facebook group post which I had written three weeks ahead of the game… Well, luckily I managed to get 10 people (4 females and 6 males) at the very last minute – we had a cool name: The Logistics Troupe!
The LSCM team came out as the 12th among 15 teams in the end – we tried our best and certainly had loads of fun as a team! Some photos here for the different games we competed in:
It has been an amazing journey for many of us LSCMers. We will miss every single bit of it when we head off for our jobs, further education or travelling adventures after September 2016.
Wondering when will be the next big reunion for the LSCM class of 2016? I hope it would be some time before graduation in July 2017!
