3 weeks until new UKRI open access policy – key points about the licence you need

11/03/2022

For anyone receiving UKRI funding, a new policy will apply for peer-reviewed research articles submitted for publication from 1 April 2022.

Read the full policy now to ensure you know what your responsibilities are.

Did you know?

The policy requires your funded research to have a CC-BY licence.

There are just two exceptions:

  • An Open Government Licence (OGL) can be used when a research article is subject to Crown Copyright.
  • A CC-BY-ND licence may be permitted on a case-by-case basis. How to apply for a CC-BY-ND licence

Any questions?

Your Research Information Specialist is here to help. See the Library’s guide on the UKRI open access policy.
