Helping you publish Open Access
11/06/2018
We often write blog posts that focus on the different ways we can help you publish Open Access. We thought it might be helpful if we summarised them all in one post, to provide an overview and to make sure you are making the most of our service.
Helping you get published
- Offering guidance on publisher, journal and funder policies to help you make decisions on where to submit your articles for Open Access publication
- Ensuring you meet your funding requirements
- Helping you choose the most appropriate publishing route – Green or Gold
- Managing and offsetting payment of publisher Article Processing Charges (APCs) and providing advice in this area
Making your research visible
- Raising and measuring the impact of your work
- Supporting you in adding your publications to CRIS, and your data to CORD, and developing your academic profile
- Managing CERES, the system members of the public can use to search and read the University’s Open Access research outputs
- Helping you create an ORCID, your unique researcher ID
Research data management (RDM)
- Advising you on best practice to find, use, organise, store and share data
- Working with you to ensure your data meets funder policies and expectations
- Helping you write a data management plan
Making Open Access fun (really!)
- Running drop-in sessions and research events, and offering regular roving sessions within your departments so you can speak to us easily
- Playing our board game at one of our events so you can learn about Open Access and RDM issues and have fun at the same time!

You can find out more about how to make your research Open Access by visiting our site on the intranet. We also regularly tweet about OA from our @knl_mirc twitter account.
