We hope you have settled in well and are enjoying your time at Cranfield University so far.
The Student Immigration Office is here for all of your visa needs and questions. Whether that be to extend your visa, change your visa category, complete your studies early, or if you have any other questions regarding your visa, we are here to help. We can also advise on the Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa, Tier 4 Dependent and Doctorate Extension Scheme as well as the Schengen visa. If we can’t answer your question we will always try our best to point you in the right direction!
We understand that arriving to a new place can be very daunting and you may have queries about your visa such as how many hours you are eligible to work or if you can travel to another country. As a Tier 4 student it is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with some of the terms of your stay in the UK. However, the International Student Advisors will help you if you are unsure of any of the requirements. During registration, you all should have received a guide to your Tier 4 responsibilities and some of you may even have seen us make a short presentation.
Whilst it is an exciting period, there is one important thing we would like to make you all aware of; unfortunately, scammers claiming to be the UKVI are targeting Tier 4 students across the UK. They take a very threatening tone and quite commonly refer to paperwork that you have not completed and if you do not pay a fine, they will immediately come to take you away. The UKVI would never call and ask for money so if you receive a call of this nature hang up immediately and contact us. The more detail you can include such as the telephone number, what they asked for etc. the more information we can feed back to the UKVI.
We are based in Building 45, across from the Sports Centre and are open 9am-5pm (Mon-Thurs) and 9am-4:30pm (Fri). You can also contact us via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or skype: studentimmigration1
Throughout the year you can check our blog for updates on hot topics and these will include information about any events or workshops we will be holding. We will also share lots of information for international students interested in applying to come and study next year including guidance for visa applications, getting your CAS and applying for ATAS.
Next week there will be an introduction from the Student Funding Team and they will be providing regular updates and information on scholarships, bursaries, student loans and other funding opportunities. You can contact the Student Funding Team via email: email@example.com or skype: studentfunding1
