Want to find out more about data documentation?: Workshop on 1 June
30/05/2023

Data documentation is essential to make sure that well-organised and well-documented research data can be produced from our research projects. It ensures that your data will be understood and interpreted by any user. It will also explain how your data was created, what the context is for the data, the structure of the data and its contents, and any manipulations that have been done to the data.
As part of the UK Data Service introductory training series: Spring 2023, a free online workshop will run on 1 June, 11am – 12.30pm that will discuss key essential processes:
- What data documentation is and how to document your data appropriately and effectively
- Different types of documentation depending on data type and how to create these, with examples
- What metadata is and what you need to know about it when sharing data.
This 90 minute workshop will consist of a 45 minute presentation, followed by a 30 minute practical element and finishing with 15 minutes for questions and discussion.
