Thinking about life after Cranfield? Why not kick start your job search by using our electronic resources to research careers and companies?
Researching Careers and Internships
Use Vault Career Intelligence to research potential careers in your area. Find out what buy-side analysts actually do before you apply for that job at UBS. Check out the listings in Workmaze to see when and how recruitment happens in the biggest graduate recruiters. Use MBA-Exchange to network with other MSc/MBAs and build up a profile to be noticed by prospective employers. Remember too that the information in our electronic business resources is not only useful for assignments. Many of our company and industry information services can help you identify companies to target for jobs or internships.
Company and industry profiles provide great background information on prospective employers so make sure you read these through. A scan through the recent business press is also essential to be well-informed at an interview. Finally if you need to analyse a company’s business dealings before you meet them, look no further than our financial resources. Check out their accounts or annual reports. For further information, see our guide on Careers Resources and Research.
For help and advice on how to create your CV and covering letter or to prepare for an interview, speak to the Career Development Service. For extra support, we have various books and guides in MIRC that you may find useful. If you have an assessment centre or test, remember too that we have a variety of books with advice and sample tests to practice on.
See our Careers collection (identifiable by green stickers), located near the issue desk. Or, if you prefer, some titles are available electronically via the library catalogue.
Any questions, as ever, contact the MIRC team.
