Accessing MIRC’s finance resources via the VMWare Horizon client
18/08/2022

Do you need to use our finance resources from off-campus? Then please read on. A selection of MIRC’s resources are available for off-campus access via the VMWare Horizon client.
How does VMWare work?
Logging into VMWare allows you to login to an on-campus PC from anywhere in the world, thus providing access to a variety of resources that were previously only available to our on-campus users.
Which of MIRC’s resources are available via VMWare?
- CRSP (Center for Research in Research in Security Prices)
- Refinitiv Eikon (including Datastream)
- SDC Platinum
So where do I start?
If you have not yet used VMWare, you will first need to follow the attached instructions from Cranfield IT to download the VMWare Horizon Client to your device.
(Please do not use the browser/HTML version).

Logging into the MIRC Pool on VMWare Horizon
Login to the Windows desktop with your University username and password, just as you would on any University device.
For security reasons, please also ensure that you log off properly at the end of your session.
If you are not a member of the School of Management, please contact us to arrange access to the MIRC client. For any questions on the process or on any of the resources included, please contact the MIRC team.
