The Library Service would like to apologise for the ongoing disruption to access in the Kings Norton Library. This is due to a series of unforeseen issues being discovered by the contractors whilst installing our new security gates.

We are doing everything we can to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.

Until that time, the main stairwell will remain closed.

On weekdays, the Library will continue to close each night at 8.30pm and will reopen at 8.30am each morning.

On weekends, the Library will close at 4.30pm on Friday afternoon and reopen at 8.30am on Monday morning.

You will be unable to access the first or second floors, or the reports area on the ground floor during this time. However, you will still be able to access and use the PC Hub, atrium and the toilets.

Additional study space

Additional study space is available in Building 37 until 7pm on 10 August (opposite Main Reception, map grid reference D3). 37 will also be made available over the weekend if the PC Hub is fully occupied and there is demand for PCs. Please speak to the Security Guard on duty in the Library.

We would like to thank all our customers for their patience and their continued co-operation.

We will place a further announcement on the intranet as soon as there is any news.
