Changes to downloading Dawsonera eBooks using Adobe from 1 November

Person using a laptop

From 1 November, Dawsonera will support eBook downloads via Adobe Digital Editions, as well as the existing Bluefire Reader.

Adobe Digital Editions is freely available and has been rolled out across our University PCs already. However, if you wish to download an eBook using Adobe Digital Editions you will need an Adobe ID. If you don’t already have one, you can register for an Adobe ID here.

Please note that each Adobe ID can only be used on a maximum of six devices, including PCs.  You can de-activate devices immediately after using the software if you need to (https://help.overdrive.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1481120-how-to-deauthorize-adobe-digital-editions). However, if you need to de-activate a University PC from your device list, please contact Adobe customer support for assistance rather than IT Services.

If you would like to download Adobe Digital Editions onto your own device or PC you can do so at http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/digital-editions/download.html.  To display the download reader options, click on ‘Download ebook’ and choose from the drop down ‘Select reader’ menu.

If you have any queries, please contact libraryresources@cranfield.ac.uk.
