Setting up a Bloomberg account and accessing a terminal
The Bloomberg Suite will reopen on Monday 7 June but social distancing restrictions only allow three terminals to be used in the Suite itself. We will continue to enable you to log in to the other terminals remotely.
You will need to create a Bloomberg account online BEFORE you can use the system, whether you are in the Suite or logging in to a terminal remotely from another location. The first two steps below explain how to do this.
Step 1: Create a Bloomberg for Education Account. (If you have already signed up to BMC, you can simply have this existing account authorised for terminal access). Please use your Cranfield email address when you register. Bloomberg will use this to verify your University status. SoM students, please contact MIRC for a class code before you do this.
Step 2:Once you have created your account, please contact us so that we can authorise your terminal access.
When your Bloomberg for Education account is authorised, you will receive an automated email from Bloomberg with step-by-step instructions on how to create your terminal login.
Please make note of your terminal login details – they are different from your Bloomberg for Education login details. (MIRC staff cannot check these for you. You will need to contact Bloomberg directly if you misplace these).
Step 3: How to access Bloomberg.
If you are logging in to a terminal remotely and are not in the Bloomberg Suite, point your browser to Bloomberg Anywhere and sign in using your newly created Bloomberg terminal account.
If you are using a terminal in the Bloomberg Suite, please follow the instructions at your desk to log in.
Before accessing the Bloomberg terminal we highly recommend that you first complete all – or at least some – of the BMC core modules, in particular ‘Terminal Basics’, so you have a better understanding of Bloomberg’s content and functionality before taking your first steps.
