Jonathan Searle is Head of the Modelling and Simulation Group and Head of the Simulation and Synthetic Environment Laboratory (SSEL) at Cranfield Defence and Security. He is the course director of the postgraduate programme that includes the Defence Simulation and Modelling MSc and is also module leader for several of the elements within that programme. He regularly supervises postgraduate research dissertations in Modelling and Simulation.
In 2013, Jonathan, and the rest of his team, received a Certificate of Commendation from the Chief Scientific Advisor in ‘recognition of exceptional contribution to Defence Science and Technology’.
John Hoggard is a Lecturer in Defence Simulation and teaches on the MSc module Foundations of Modelling and Simulation, MSc module Simulation and Synthetic Environments and short course, Introduction to Defence Simulation.
John's interests include 3D graphic generation techniques including raster, ray-tracing and hybrid techniques, artificial intelligence in gaming including People in Contemporary Operating Environments (PeCOE) and the application of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technology in defence. John is also a Cranfield University graduate, with an MSc in Defence Simulation and Modelling.
